There's a few tricks though to brew the perfect single serve coffee from your Senseo, and you might find that your coffee tastes much better if you follow them.

Senseo Coffee Pods


First of all use purified water or bottled water. If your water is good, then your coffee or tea will be good. The water you fill the reservoir with makes a big difference. Don't over fill the reservoir though as that could cause damage. Also be sure you don't reuse a coffee pod. Would you reuse your old coffee grounds on a regular coffee maker? Ok... don't answer that. You shouldn't, and that's that. Be sure you keep your coffee machine clean and run a brewing cycle without a coffee pod in the machine from time to time to clean out the pipes.

Senseo has a signature crema layer that they add to make your latte a little extra special. If you want milk or cream, add it before so that you preserve the crema on top. Also, this helps keep your coffee hotter for longer, as does running the brewing cycle once without a pod into your cup to heat your mug up. Finally, we have heard that if you get your coffee pod a little wet before you put it in the machine it provides a better seal and enhances the extraction process so that you get more richness out of your coffee.

Senseo has some great coffee pods to choose from. Experiment and find your favorite flavors, even mix and match, you never know what you will come up with! Our favorite is to mix a hot chocolate with a nice strong dark coffee- it makes a Mocha that any Starbucks barista would be jealous of!
